Program Placement
If you'd like to determine if starting at lesson 1 or lesson 30 would be a better fit for your situation, you can use the Pre-Assessment word lists and our lesson Scope and Sequence to make that decision.

The Scope and Sequence outlines the order of the content taught in the videos. The lessons also teach short and long vowels, digraphs, diphthongs, combinations, diacritical coding, syllable division, and accent concepts that are pertinent to spelling, so if a student is not familiar with those concepts, they would still want to start with lesson 1 to build those skills before lessons 31-75.

To administer a pre-assessment, read the test list words aloud while your student spells them without assistance. If they miss more than five words, it would be beneficial to complete the lessons for that list span to learn those skills.
